چکیده

Last decade improvement of the experimental facilities provided means of exploring the polarization phenomena in deep inelastic collisions and also gave rise to a still existing need for a suitable theory. From the first paper [-1] many theoretical works dealing with the spin alignment and polarization effects in heavy ion reactions have been done (see [-2] and references therein). A variety of methods covering the range from a phenomenological model [3] to the TDHF calculations [-4] has been applied to the problem. Nevertheless in most cases no particular attention was paid to a channel-averaging technics in spite of the fact that in the DIC the observed quantities are always averaged over many quantal states [-5, 6]. In this paper, using the statistical properties of the reaction amplitude fluctuating components we obtain a polarization probability distribution. It makes possible to determine the average polarization as well as all the higher moments. The general formulas thus derived are analyzed in two special cases, namely, the pure statistical reaction and the planar one when both the statistical and coherent features are present. The approach is similar to that used in the investigation of the average characteristics of nucleon induced reactions [7].

Understanding saturation and AA collisions with an eA collider

The initial conditions in high energy nucleus-nucleus collisions are determined by the small momentum fraction part of the nuclear wavefunction. This is the regime of gluon saturation and the most direct way to experimentally study it would be deep inelastic scattering at a high energy electron ion collider (EIC). This talk discusses some of the connections between physics at the EIC and the in...

Gluon shadowing in the Glauber-Gribov model

New data from HERA experiment on (diffractive) deep inelastic scattering has been used to parameterize nucleon and Pomeron structure functions. Within the Gribov theory, the parameterizations were employed to calculate gluon shadowing for various heavy ions and compared our results with predictions from other models. Calculations for d+Au collisions at forward rapidities at ultra-relativistic e...

Hyperon Polarization in Unpolarized Scattering Processes

Abstract Transverse polarization in the Hyperon (Λ) production in the unpolarized deep inelastic scattering and pp collisions is studied in the twist-three approach, considering the contribution from the quark-gluon-antiquark correlation distribution in nucleon. We further compare our results for deep inelastic scattering to a transverse momentum dependent factorization approach, and find consi...

Modeling Magnetic Field in Heavy ion Collisions Using Two Different Nuclear Charge Density Distributions

By studying the properties of matter during heavy-ion collisions, a better understanding of the Quark-Gluon plasma is possible. One of the main areas of this study is the calculation of the magnetic field, particularly how the values of conductivity affects this field and how the field strength changes with proper time. In matching the theoretical calculations with results obtained in lab, two diffe...
